IBADAN: MASTERS PROGRAMME IN SUSTAINABLE DEV. PRACTICE

The Postgraduate School, University of Ibadan is seeking suitable and qualified candidates for her academic Master programme in sustainable development. Areas of specialization are in Economic, Social or Environmental sustainability.

Admission requirements are the same for typical UI postgraduate programme. Candidates must write and pass a proficiency test in English.

2015/16 U.I POSTGRADUATE APPLICATION FORMS ON SALE

The  
University of Ibadan
is presently advertising her postgraduate
application form of the  for the 2015/16 academic session.

 

University of Ibadan (UI) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for her postgraduate programmes i.e Masters (M.A, MSc., LLM, MPhil, M.Pharm e.t.c), Postgraduate diplomas (PGD) and Doctorate (PhD) degrees.

UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN- METHOD OF APPLICATION

  • Postgraduate application forms can be gotten through the university’s website at here or www.pgschool.ui.edu.ng
  • Postgraduate application forms cost between 13,000 naira for academic programmes and 18,000 naira for professional programmes.
  • Sale of Univeristy of Ibadan postgraduate forms for the 2015/16 academic session ends Monday, June 8th, 2015.

IBADAN PROFICIENCY SCREENING RESULT IS OUT

The results of the screening test written by postgraduate applicants into University of Ibadan for the 2014/15 academic session has been released. The results was released about 3 days ago. Postgraduate applicants into U.I can check their proficiency screening result through their e-mail.
Note that additional test/oral interview may be conducted by some departments, after this, recommendation for admission and registration would begin.

M.B.A PROGRAMME AT UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

This blog post is in response to series of questions about the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Ibadan. This would give our esteemed readers general and specific information  about studying for an MBA degree- specifically related to University of Ibadan. The information here may change with time, so exercise due diligence.

  1. The MBA degree programme is a professional masters degree and not academic. It is aimed at people in business and executives. You would not be able to take up a lecturing job with an MBA without an MPhil.
  2. All prospective MBA applicants into University of Ibadan would take an English Proficiency Screening Test before admission
  3. Beyond your bachelors degree, other qualifications accepted by U.I for MBA admission are; A.C.A, A.C.C.A, A.C.M.A,  C.F.A (USA). A HND graduate with 5 year experience in management would also be considered.
  4. Duration for full time MBA is 18 months,
  5. The areas of specializations in U.I MBA are Marketing, Finance, Operation, Personnel and Portfolio (Managements), Operations Research, Investment Analysis, and Labour Economics.
  6. The UI, MBA programme is conducted by the Department of Economics, in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
  7. The tuition fees for full time MBA is about 120,000 naira and Executive MBA is about 175,000 naira for the first session. (2years ago)

The postgraduate school at the University of Ibadan is calling for applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission to Doctoral, Academic and Professional Master Degree and Diploma programmes for the 2014/15 academic session.
For details about the postgraduate application, visit www.pgschool.ui.edu.ng/images/form/CURRENT%20ADMISSION%20GUIDE%2014.15.pdf   There would be a test of proficiency in English Language for all prospective postgraduate student except doctoral applicants. Check www.pgschool.ui.ed.ng/news to get information about date for the test. Print out your photo card after completing the form. You would present it at the examination or application venue.

UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN INCREASE POSTGRADUATE SUNDRY FEES

Prospective postgraduate students seeking admission in University of Ibadan should be prepared for higher fees, as the university senate at University of Ibadan has approved an increase of various fees for postgraduate students. The increament announced on the website of the postgraduate school at U.I showed an increase of 50 – 100 percent for different items like departmental registration, library fees among others. The newly admitted 2013/14 postgraduate students would begin the new payment. No doubt, this would surely push up the cummulative fees for doing masters/Ph.D programme at U.I. See the breakdown below.

We appreciate the regular readers on this blog and their questions. There seems to be a lot of expectation about when the University of Ibadan would begin sales of its 2014/15 postgraduate forms.   2. pls, kip me informed, once the sale of pgd forms start in u.i, for 2014/2015 academic year.thanks. Can a person apply if deficient in English Language and Mathematics?
    Thanks for ur helpful info. I’m hoping for the 2014/2015 form sale. But pls, what is the duration for msc in soil sci and can a 2:2( >3.0) grade be accepted? Thanks

– We will definitelt keep you informed when University if Ibadan begin sales of its 2014/15 postgraduate forms. But it seems it would still take a while. For the 2013/14 postgraduate applicant into U.I, their recommendation/admission letters are still being processed. That is, last year postgraduate applicants who passed the entry exams have not began lectures. So, take your time and make sure you visit the blog regularly. Tuition fees for postgraduate studies in U.I is about 30,000 to 120,000 depending the course. Note, this is tuition fees alone, the consolidated fees should not be less the 90,000 for the lowest. The postgraduate fees are per session. This is the postgraduate fees for 2012/13 session at University of Ibadan. [click here]
– Some one who is deficient in English Language and Mathematics need not apply. You would be screened out. You should have at least 5 credits at O’ level including English Language and Mathematics. Don’t dash U.I postgraduate school you money.
– Duration for masters programme at U.I is normally 18 months, except for some professional courses and part time. Admission into postgraduate programme at University of Ibadan is very competitive. Your best shot at being admitted is to have a 2.1. Even some 2.1 may be denied if the competition is high and you are not a U.I graduate.
