Established in December 2008, KWASU has been a beacon of excellence in education and research for over a decade. As the highest-ranking academic officer, the Vice-Chancellor will oversee the daily operations of the university and drive its strategic vision for the future.

The Governing Council of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, announces to the academic community that the post of Vice Chancellor of the University is vacant. In line with the provisions of the Kwara State University Law 2008, section 3 (3), the Council invites applications from suitably qualified candidates with experience in university administration for the post of Vice-Chancellor.

Position Overview

The Vice-Chancellor will serve as the Chief Executive and Academic Officer, chairing key university committees and ensuring effective management of human, material, and financial resources. We seek a visionary leader who can foster innovation, promote scholarly excellence, and uphold the university’s commitment to academic integrity and inclusivity.

Qualifications and Requirements

– The ideal candidate must hold the rank of Professor with at least fifteen years of university experience.
– A proven track record of academic achievement, including significant publications in peer-reviewed journals, is essential.
– Leadership skills, technological proficiency, and the ability to attract funding and foster collaborations are highly valued.
– Candidates should demonstrate integrity, fairness, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of university life.

Terms of Service

The appointment will be for a single term of five years, with salary and allowances commensurate with other public universities in Nigeria.

Present employment, status, and salary
Extra-curricular activities
