Pastor E.A Adeboye Bags PhD from UNN

51 years after dropping out, Adeboye bags Phd from UNN,  The Punch reports.
The revered minister of God, shared about his ambition to study at University of Nigeria, as an undergraduate. His dream came true in 1963 but left in 1966, to University of Ife (now OAU) bag a B.Sc in Mathematics.
His words, “I left UNN in 1966 without a degree.
“Sixty years later, I have gotten a degree from UNN, now not a first degree but a doctorate degree.
“That is why I feel elated.  I am overwhelmed,” he said.  
Though, it had always being believed he had his first degree at UNN, before becoming a lecturer at University of Ilorin and University of Lagos, where he also bagged a PhD in Applied Mathematics.

Pastor Adeboye used that opportunity to hold a day time, campus Holy Ghost Night. Congrats Daddy G.O

SCHEDULE FOR UNN POSTGRADUATE SCREENING EXAMINATION

The 2014/15 University of Nigeria, Nsukka postgraduate screening examination takes place tomorrow 5th July, 2014. The postgraduate school at UNN has already sent out text messages of invitation to prospective students. This, we believe is to avoid a repeat of last years event, when many postgraduate candidates missed out, because they were unaware. The postgraduate screening examination holds at the Nsukka campus, by 9 A.M. The venue/lecture halls for each department for the exams are as follows.

ABOUT UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA P.G ADMISSION

Postgraduatenigeria earlier broke the news about the 2014/15 screening exams for prospective postgraduate applicants who applied. This post is just to give you necessary information you may need. Drop your questions in the comments for it to be answered.

  1. The Postgraduate Screening exams began last year, with a lot of issues
  2.  Many applicant missed the exams for various reasons which bothered from inadequate dissemination of the information (that’s why we are here now), distance e.t.c
  3. The screening is for both Masters and Ph.D applicants.
  4. Last year’s screening was a general aptitude test. It was not specific to the course you are applying for.
  5. The P.G school is still receiving transcripts. Its very important that your transcript reaches the P.G schools or you would be denied admission.
  6. Your success in the screening test does not necessarily guarantee your admission, but your failure in it can stamp your admission denial. It just a means of weeding out very incompetent students.

2014/15 UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION SCREENING TEST

The School of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Nigeria has announced modalities for the screening test for 2014/15 postgraduate admission. The date for the screening test is on 5th July, 2014. The sale of the postgraduate application forms started in March and was extended till May 14, 2014. The screening test which was done for the first time in the 2013/14 session, is coming up for the second time ever. It was a general test and not specific to any department nor course of study. The announcement from the school of postgraduate studies concerning the screening test goes thus;
SCREENING TEST FOR 2014/15 POSTGRADUATE ADMISSIONS
This is to inform all candidates who applied for the 2014/15 admission into various postgraduate programmes of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, that the screening test would be held on 5th July, 2014. Further details of the screening with regards to venue, time e.t.c would be communicated to all concerned in due course
