A new PhD program on “Sustainable Development and Climate Change” is now open for applications.
The is the first National Doctorate in Sustainable Development and Climate Change program at the IUSS School. It was an in agreement with the 30 private and public Italian universities involved, for a duration of three years. It aims to prepare future academic scholars to “redesign a resilient society, able to better address and manage the problem of climate change, and to rethink sustainable development”.

Focus of Scholarship Program
The PhD program is organised at a national level: IUSS PaviaIUSS Pavia will be coordinating 30 universities across Italy with 105 scholarships available, covering 6 research areas, in an interdisciplinary framework.
The research fields are:

- Socio-economic Risk and Impacts;
- Technology and Territory;
- Theories, Institutions and Cultures;
- Agriculture and Forestry;
- Health and Ecosystems.
The PhD will be in English, and international students are more than welcome.

Application deadline and Timeline
Applications for participation in the competition must be submitted to the IUSS University School of Pavia via the web platform ( www.iusspavia.it/phd-sdc ) by 22 July 2021, at 12.00 .
