FUPRE Postgraduate Admission Requirements and Duration

All prospective postgraduate candidates seeking admission into the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, must satisfy the WAEC, NECO or NABTEB ‘O’ Level or ‘A’ Level requirements for Matriculation into First Degree programmes of the University as approved by Senate for the various Departments.

Duration of postgraduate programmes at FUPRE is as follows;
PGD: Minimum of 2 Semesters and Maximum of 4 Semesters for Full-Time Students. For Part-Time Students, Minimum of 4 Semesters and Maximum of 6 Semesters.

M.Sc: Minimum of 3 Semesters and Maximum of 5 Semesters for Full-Time Students. For Part-Time Students Minimum of 5 Semesters and Maximum of 8 Semesters.

Ph.D. Minimum of 6 Semesters and Maximum of 8 Semesters for Full-Time Students. For Part-Time Students, Minimum of 8 Semesters and Maximum of 10 Semesters

Application Procedure for FUPRE PG

1. Begin the online postgraduate application at Federal University of Petroleum Resources postgraduate application portal
2. Create a profile by filling the application form. This generates the FUPRE postgraduate application number
3. On the application portal, click on payment. Print and Proceed to pay for the postgraduate application form with the remita platform. This is done at any of the designated banks at a cost of 15,000 naira.

4. Copy payment reference and application number. Payment must be done in 7 days of creating the online profile.

5. Complete online application form. Print out transcript request form.

Deadline and General Information

1. All applicants should sent the following documents to the school of postgraduate student. Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun.
Photocopy of University Degree Certificate(s)

Photocopy of NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate

Photocopy of O’ Level result(s)

2. Candidates should request their former University/Institution to forward their academic transcript to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University of Petroleum Resources, P.M.B 1221, Effurun, Delta State.

3.  Candidates should request their referees to fill the referee’s report and submit online.
