– We will definitelt keep you informed when University if Ibadan begin sales of its 2014/15 postgraduate forms. But it seems it would still take a while. For the 2013/14 postgraduate applicant into U.I, their recommendation/admission letters are still being processed. That is, last year postgraduate applicants who passed the entry exams have not began lectures. So, take your time and make sure you visit the blog regularly. Tuition fees for postgraduate studies in U.I is about 30,000 to 120,000 depending the course. Note, this is tuition fees alone, the consolidated fees should not be less the 90,000 for the lowest. The postgraduate fees are per session. This is the postgraduate fees for 2012/13 session at University of Ibadan. [click here]
– Some one who is deficient in English Language and Mathematics need not apply. You would be screened out. You should have at least 5 credits at O’ level including English Language and Mathematics. Don’t dash U.I postgraduate school you money.
– Duration for masters programme at U.I is normally 18 months, except for some professional courses and part time. Admission into postgraduate programme at University of Ibadan is very competitive. Your best shot at being admitted is to have a 2.1. Even some 2.1 may be denied if the competition is high and you are not a U.I graduate.

BURGLARY ATTACK AT ODILI POSTGRADUATE HALL IN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA. NSUKKA.

rear veiw of odili hall

It was with a rude shock, and commotion that postgraduate students resident in the Odili postgraduate hall, within the UNN campus, woke up this morning to a detestable event which left one postgraduate student seriously injured. The burglary occurred at about 3 am this morning (13/8/13). According to the victim, and corroborated by other account, the burglars, with the sole aim to steal, broke into his room, after successfully removing the nets and louvers. Only one of the three burglars had successfully entered before he woke, and a scuffle ensued. His loud scream of THIEF! THIEF!! was what alerted other neighbours who can rushing in an attempt to help, but the burglars had escape before they arrived. This was not without leaving their victim seriously injured and successfully taking his laptop. The victim was rushed to the university’s medical center. The victims room was at the basement of the four storey postgraduate hall of residence and such attempt burglary has been reoccurring unabated.

At day break, the hall governor Paul Hagga had summoned the dean of student affairs to the hostel, where he received first hand information about what occurred. Students expressed their concern to him. It was a heated moment as many angry postgraduate students accused the school authority of negligence and taking with kids glove, the security of lives and property within the postgraduate hostel. The Hall Governor accused the Chief Security Officer, who was present, of not meeting up to his responsibility by not providing security men after many complaints. ISSUES WITH UNN POSTGRADUATE EXAMS AND ADMISSION.

The result of the Postgraduate entrance exams written by those applying for various postgraduate programmes have been released. But for the many applicants, there have been many complaints and questions remain about the conduct of the exams, the result released and the postgraduate admission process  into  University of Nigeria, Nsukka. This blog would give you first hand information about the Postgraduate school at university of Nigeria.
1. The Postgraduate entrance exams was conducted for the first time by the university, and is probably a trial    test, BUT IT WOULD BE USED FOR THE ADMISSION PROCESS, except anything goes            .otherwise.
2.The Postgraduate school marked the scripts of  all postgraduate applicants, and the file of those deemed    qualified were sent to the various department to further sift the applicants to their desired standard.    (transcript e.t.c)
3. A scratch card of one thousand naira (1000) plus about one hundred naira bank commission is needed    ..to access the result. (don’t mind UNN money making gimmicks. lol)
4. For those having difficulty checking their result, depending on the problem, send an e-mail with your complaints to info@gps-ng.com. I would advise you to send repeated mails to them as you may not get a quick response.
5. Your inability to find/print your result online would not likely affect your admission if you are qualified. But  it would surely be needed when registration process begins.
6. According to a staff at the ICT center, a lot of students made mistakes in filling in their application forms, this is the reason why many may not see their result.
7. Work on admission process for regular Postgraduate applicants have not commenced, this is because the postgraduate school is treating the admission of postgraduate sand wish students, who are presently in session.
8. About the cut-off mark for admission, there has not been a definite comment yet, but your prayer should be that your name appear in the final admission list. That is what guarantees you admission (personal opinion based on findings) because only those adjudge to have passed (based on an already set cut-off by PG school) were those sent to the various department.
9. The schools fees for academic masters was 76,000 thousand, and bed space in hostel costs 34,000 in the 2012/13 session. This gives you an idea of how much you would need for your financial preparation.
